RECIPES :)
Royal Tea Party :)
Invite some friends over and prepare a perfect medieval tea party!
* Make sure your parent or guardian helps you with these!
You Will Need:
A knife
Scissors
Two bowls
Plastic wrap
Rolling pin
Baking sheet
Shield Printout
Ingredients
Royal Sandwiches:
Bread slices
Tomato, lettuce or any other vegetable
Cheese, ham,turkey, etc.
Royal Cookies:
1 1/2 c. flour
1/3 tsp. salt
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
2/3 c. softened butter
2/3 c. sugar
Two tsp. vanilla extract
1/2 tsp. lemon extract
One egg yolk + One egg
Sprinkles, candies, colored sugar
Suggestions:
- Make royal tea party invitations and give them out to your friends.
- Ask everyone to dress up in princess, or knight clothing.
- Eat around a round table like in medieval times.
- Server tea (hot or cold) for your royal guests.
- Serve treats like tiny sandwiches or cookies.
Royal Sandwiches instructions:
- Print the shield and cut it out.
- Use the shield stencil to cut bread in the shape of shields.
- Add all the ingredients to create the perfect royal sandwich!
- Make as many shield sandwiches as you think necessary for your royal guests.
Royal Cookies instructions:
- Mix the flour, salt and baking powder in a bowl.
- Beat the butter until creamy in a separate bowl.
- Add the sugar, vanilla and lemon extract and blend.
- Mix the egg and yolk.
- Stir in the flour mixture until the dough is uniform.
- Cover the dough in plastic wrap and let it sit for at least 2 hours.
- Heat oven to 250 F/170 C.
- Roll the dough and cut small circles.
- Decorate the tops of the cookies with sugar, sprinkles or candies.
- Tip: You can put the sprinkles in such a way as to form a sword!
- Put the cookies on the baking sheet and cook them for 10 minutes.

ARTS AND CRAFTS :)
Noble Steed Costume:)
* Make sure your parent or guardian helps you with these!
You will Need:
A really big cardboard box that you can fit into
Scissors
Markers, paints or crayons
Masking tape
Staples
Wide ribbon
Instructions
- Cut the flaps off the cardboard box. (The box is the horse body.)
- Print the horse’s head and tail.
- Paste them on the flaps of cardboard that you removed from the box.
- Cut them, and decorate with markers or paints.
- Let your imagination soar! Tip: a chivalrous horse always wears a saddle!
- Attach the horse’s head and tail to opposite ends of the horse’s body with the masking tape.
- Staple one end of the wide ribbon to one inside of the box and the other end diagonally opposite.
- Repeat this with another piece of ribbon on the remaining corners.
- Your costume horse is ready to start a Medieval Quest, but the real question is… are you?

OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES :)
Medieval Obstacle Quest :)
Challenge your friends to a Medieval Quest! Overcome obstacles and impress the king/queen!
* Make sure your parent or guardian helps you with these!
You will Need:
The horse costume you made in this month’s Arts and Crafts!
Some hardboiled eggs
Two large ropes
A basket
A whistle
A stopwatch
Family and friends
A large playground
Preparation:
- Choose a starting point.
- Put both ropes one meter apart to create a moat.
- Choose a spot to place a spoon and eggs (dragon eggs).
- Choose a spot where the King/Queen will have the basket and wait for the eggs.
Instructions:
- Put on your horse costume!
- Choose someone to start the stopwatch and blow the whistle.
- First challenge: When you get the dragon eggs, place one on your spoon.
- Carry the egg in the spoon to the basked. If you drop it, start again.
- To win: Be the fastest to finish the quest and impress the king/queen!
