CROISSANTS BY TWEE!
Ingredients
Makes: 24-32 croissants
1 cup warm milk
¾ cup milk at room temperature
1 teaspoon sugar
¼ cup sugar
1 tablespoon yeast
1 cup flour
4 cups flour
1 ½ teaspoon salt
1 egg
1 egg, beaten with a tablespoon of cold water
1 cup cold butter cut into bean sized pieces
½ cup butter melted and cooled
Directions
* Make sure your parent or guardian helps you with these!
Prepare ingredients:
- Stir 1 cup warm milk and 1 tsp sugar together and add yeast.
- Let stand 10 minutes. Stir again well.
- Add 1 cup flour, mix well to create batter.
- Add ¾ cup milk, ¼ cup sugar and 1 egg. Whisk batter until smooth.
- Add ½ cup of melted butter, fold into batter and set aside.
- In separate mixing bowl, add 4 cups of flour and bean-sized pieces of cold butter.
- Pour batter into flour/butter mix, stir until flour is moist.
- Cover the bowl with plastic wrap.
- Refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.
Preparation for baking:
- Press mix into a ball on a floured board. Divide into 4 parts.
- With a rolling pin, roll each part into a circle 12” or 16” wide.
- Cut each circle into 6 or 8 pie-shaped wedges.
- Using hands, roll up each wedge, staring at the wide end.
- Shape each roll into a crescent.
- Place well-spaced on ungreased baking sheet.
- Let rise at room temperature until double in size.
- Brush each with egg beaten with cold water.
Baking:
- Preheat oven to 400°F.
- Place croissants in oven. Lower temperature to 350°F. Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden.

Make a book mark that looks like Twee’s Wand!
- With your parent’s permission, print out the Twee’s Wand template.
- Have a parent help you cut out Twee’s Wand.
- Use the cut-out to draw an outline on a piece of construction paper.
- Have a parent help you cut out Twee’s Wand from the constructions paper.
- Use crayons, felt pens, paint, or anything you like to color and decorate Twee’s Wand. Finish your decoration with glue and glitter.
- Use a hole punch, or have your parent help you cut a hole in the bottom of Twee’s Wand.
- Tie a ribbon or string on the end.
- Use your Twee Wand to help you mark your place in any fairy tale or story you’re reading!

Optional: branches, boxes, etc.
How to Play
- Make a space that’s just for you, family, and friends. Use materials that are available – but keep in mind that secret forts are most fun when they have spaces for secret notes, spy glasses, and magic wands.
