Couleurs

The days are shorter and colder
Green is leaving us for another year
Departing in a fiery glory of color
Making way for the gray of November
And the white of December
Fuji Apple Picking

Let the wild rumpus start!

Recipe for a wild rumpus:
A sunny fall afternoon
A kajillion fallen leaves
Two kids
A viking helmet
Princesses and transformers
Mix well and let the wild rumpus start!
If you haven't seen Where the Wild Things Are, what are you waiting for?
Meetings with remarkable trees
Yellow leaves fall from branches like ballerinas. I squint my eyes to blur the colours as I walk. Each morning the trees are a little more naked. The colours are fading fast from the landscape and I am not ready for winter.

It's Just The Guys.....Except Hannah!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This is one of my favorite pictures. It was taken a couple of years ago. In this picture are my two sons, my husband, Mo-Jo puppy and our sweet Hannah. We sure do miss you Hannah. You were a good sub mommy for Mo-Jo. It was a gorgeous, crisp fall day! We are on the other side of Hoover Dam. Nowadays, Landon is as tall as Kyle. They both tower over me at around 6'2"! I played around with this picture and made this copy into a sepia as I love that old, retro feel.
October gave a party
The annual autumn show is winding down, with more leaves on the ground now than on the trees. October is such a bittersweet month for me. Autumn would probably be my favorite season, if it wasn't followed by winter. As such, the beauty is always tinged with a bit of sadness, and the knowledge that the days will continue to grow colder and shorter. If I'm lucky though, we may get a few more glorious days like these.
The suitcase photograph is available as print in my main store and my Etsy shop.
